The project develops a multi-disciplinary design workflow for Nb3Sn and hybrid accelerator magnets, implementing a rigorous model-based systems-engineering methodology that makes collaboration between multiple actors efficient, traceable and repeatable — among them the CHART2 MagRes, MagComp, MagDev and WireChar projects and the CERN TE/MSC group. The methodology allows greater modelling depth and complexity and contributes to system-wide optimisation of magnet performance and robustness. It is applied to the ongoing Nb3Sn and hybrid-magnet designs of the MagDev project at PSI.
