The project establishes a body of knowledge towards improved performance of Nb3Sn accelerator magnets, through R&D on epoxies and other matrix systems that reduces training — avoiding cracking, delamination and microplastic events — and reduces the stresses on Nb3Sn wires during the mechanical loading phases.
