ProgrammeCHART 2025–2028

A four-year programme of superconducting accelerator magnet R&D at PSI, building on the achievements of MagDev0–2 and aligned with the goals of the High-Field Magnet Programme hosted at CERN. It implements the next steps of the R&D roadmap towards a scalable, stress-managed Nb3Sn magnet concept for FCC-hh, through the testing of two short-model common-coil magnets in the 12–14 T range. In parallel it advances REBCO-based high-temperature superconductor (HTS) technology for accelerator magnets, developing and testing three subscale magnets and a coil for testing in a background field.
