The project studies replacing the normal-conducting short straight sections (SSS) of the FCC-ee main storage ring with superconducting ones, through to the test of a one-metre-long prototype module. Using high-temperature superconductor (HTS, ReBCO tape) makes the SSS more compact and more uniform in length, and lets them operate with significant savings in power consumption.
