FCCee Lumi
Optimizing FCC-ee Luminosity
The project delivers optimised optics for the FCC-ee collider rings in four modes of operation, for both two and four interaction points, including the final focus optics. It develops final-focus tuning knobs for linear and nonlinear control of the interaction-point optics, and derives alignment tolerances for the final focus elements from how those knobs perform. It characterises the expected signals of the luminometer, the beamstrahlung monitor and the SVD, studies luminosity tuning based on realistic signals and tuning knobs, and from that deduces the achievable performance and the directions worth pursuing further. The work also prepares the ground for a long-term accelerator physics activity at the University of Geneva, ideally placed close to CERN and to mutual benefit.
