The web pages at www.chart.ch contain official pages produced by the CHART Board and by the CHART Host Organisation.
The CHART website presence also includes web pages and links independently produced and updated by individual institutions (CHART Members / Partners), research units and departments and their staff. The statements made by one or more authors / creators of such pages are not binding, and do not necessarily represent the views of CHART.

Although every care has been taken by the CHART to ensure the accuracy of the information published, no warranty can be given in respect of the accuracy, reliability, up-to-dateness or completeness of this information.
CHART expressly reserves the right to alter, remove or temporarily not to publish the content, in full or in part, without prior notice.
In no event will CHART be liable for any loss or damage of a material or immaterial nature arising from access to, use or non-use of published information, or from misuse of the connection or technical faults.

Data protection
Based on Article 13 of the Federal Constitution and the provisions of federal data protection legislation, everyone has the right to the protection of their privacy as well as to protection from misuse of their personal data. CHART complies with these provisions. Personal data is handled in line with the provisions of the Federal Act on Data Protection.
In close cooperation with our hosting provider (TechTown GmbH, Switzerland), we make every effort to protect the databases as well as possible from outside access, data loss, misuse or falsification.
When you visit our websites, anonymised information concerning access (date, time, page accessed) may be stored on the server. Log files store details such as browser types used, operating systems, the webpage from which you were forwarded to our websites, an IP address and other similar data. This data serves technical analysis in the case of maintenance work as well as defence against threats in the event of attacks on our systems. We do not make any inferences regarding the data subject when using this data. This data is used to protect data security.
This usage data also forms the basis for statistical, impersonal evaluations for the purpose of tracking trends so that CHART can improve the information on offer. In accordance with the Federal Act on Postal and Telecommunications Surveillance (BÜPF), there is a statutory retention requirement for marginal data from the past six months.
Contacting CHART
This website has no contact form. The addresses given on the contact page are ordinary e-mail addresses: a message sent to one of them travels from the sender’s own mail program to the recipient, and this website neither receives nor stores it.
Mail to chart@psi.ch reaches a mailbox at the Paul Scherrer Institute, read by the CHART Host Organisation Office and by the chairs of the CHART Council and the CHART Executive Board. Messages are kept for as long as the matter they concern is being dealt with, and are handled under PSI’s data protection arrangements. Copies may also be held in the personal mailboxes of the persons named above.
Cookies, Plugins, and Extensions
This website sets no cookies. It uses no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party services, and it loads no content from other providers — fonts, maps, videos and social media plug-ins are either absent or served from our own server. Editors who log in receive the technical cookies WordPress needs for the session; ordinary visitors receive none.
Your rights
Anyone whose personal data CHART processes may request information about that data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to its processing. Requests should be addressed to the CHART Host Organisation Office (chart@psi.ch), stating clearly what the request concerns.
Anyone who believes their data has been processed unlawfully may also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Berne, www.edoeb.admin.ch.
Security
If data is transmitted to CHART, it is not possible to guarantee confidential or reliable data transfer. In addition, CHART will likewise normally respond to such contact electronically, in which case the confidentiality and integrity of the data transmitted again cannot be guaranteed. For this reason, no data that is sensitive in terms of confidentiality, availability or integrity should be transmitted in this way.
