The project models the impact of beam-beam effects on precision luminosity measurements, simulating multiple interaction points and the cross-talk between experiments. It estimates the luminosity uncertainties and benchmarks them against available data from LHC van der Meer scans, extending that understanding to bunch trains so that detector performance can be monitored during operation. The work also commissions and exploits beam monitoring instrumentation at CMS for precision luminosity measurement and for benchmarking the luminosity models, and contributes to the Run-3 precision luminosity analysis at CMS and to detector performance studies of a new Fast Beam Conditions Monitor based on silicon sensors.
